I am passionate and creative; I love to read and bake, and am an avid guitar learner. I am quite a perfectionist and will always feel pleasure in completing a task successfully. I am an amateur ornithologist and interested in furthering my knowledge of the natural world.

MSc Advanced Wildlife Conservation in Practice | University of the West of England, Bristol
January 2016 – December 2017
A strategic conservation education partnership between The University of the West of England and Bristol Zoological Society. This covered a range of topics such as:-
-Communications for Conservation (fundraising, campaigning, grant proposals, consultation evaluation, public engagement & behaviour change tools)
-Advanced Ecosystem Conservation (NVC surveys, UAV surveying, ArcGIS ecological network creation/modelling & gap analysis of Nature Reserve management plans)
-Advanced Species Conservation (SSC Biodiversity Action Plans & presentations, systematic literature reviews of monitoring methods & critical analysis of journals)
-Innovation & Enterprise (granting bodies and applications for conservation innovations such as InnovateUK, how to create revenue stream, the innovation process, business/enterprise creation, marketing techniques, creating copy & stakeholder creation and partnerships)
-Conservation Management Research Project (I managed a project titled “Effects of weather on foraging behaviour & home range size of European Nightjars in managed Welsh upland forest.”). This involved creating and designing a research proposal, developing project milestones, communicating and creating partnerships with consultants and completing fieldwork on the nightjars in Afan Valley, Wales.

Volunteering
Dormouse Reintroduction Volunteer | Warwickshire Wildlife Trust & PTES
Summer 2017
Assisted with Princethorpe Woodlands Living Landscape’s dormouse reintroduction program in conjunction with People’s Trust for Endangered Species. Helped put up nest boxes and construct/put up soft release cages. Assisted with reintroduction day; 38 individuals released in pairs into soft release cages. Helped with subsequent feeding of dormice over following 3 months.

Communications Officer | Wildscreen Festival 2016

Updated the festival’s social media platforms with relevant and useful information. Attended talks and masterclasses and provided condensed account of key points. Acted as a point of contact for delegates.

Festival Assistant | Ape Alliance – Stroud Nature Festival

Engaged the public using virtual reality headsets allowing them to see and experience Ape habitats in 360˚.
