Over the course of my career spanning more than ten years, I’ve had the privilege of working across various sectors, including conservation, agriculture, planning, and retail. As I transitioned from retail into consultancy roles with WSP UK, I delved deeper into the complexities of environmental impact assessment and stakeholder engagement. Working on impactful projects like the Heathrow Expansion and wind farm developments provided me with invaluable insights into land management and conservation principles. I discovered my adeptness in managing complex datasets, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and leading teams, which underscored my adaptability and leadership acumen within conservation-focused endeavors.

My journey into the world of conservation began with my role as a Ranger at Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council. Here, I found immense fulfillment in championing environmental awareness and sustainable practices, engaging with stakeholders, leading guided tours, and organizing educational workshops at heritage sites. These experiences not only solidified my commitment to conservation but also honed my ability to connect with communities and drive positive change.

My roots as a farmer on our family farm have further enriched my understanding of agricultural and environmental dynamics. Spearheading conservation initiatives like tree planting and wildlife corridor development, I actively contributed to biodiversity conservation and sustainable land management practices. This hands-on experience, coupled with my academic background in Geography, has equipped me with a holistic understanding of environmental science and conservation.
