The Bird Survey Technician will be part of a hybrid Audubon-Florida Park Service team conducting coastal bird monitoring and management research in Florida District 1 State Parks. This position participates as a member of a 1-2 person field crew.  Winter duties include surveys of non-breeding shorebird and seabirds species observed in the study area, with a focus on winter habitat use patterns and resighting uniquely banded snowy plovers, Wilson’s plovers, American oystercatchers, piping plovers and red knots.  Other duties include, capturing and banding snowy plovers, Wilson’s plovers and American oystercatchers, documenting  disturbance observations, conducting predator tracking surveys or data entry.
