We are seeking technicians for a large-scale project investigating how nest-site location impacts survival and condition in shrubland birds in Illinois. We are examining a range of parameters related to adult and nestling condition, including circulating and fecal glucocorticoid hormones, maternal deposition of hormone metabolites in the eggs, multiple aspects of immune function, blood, intestinal, and ecto-parasite infections, oxidative stress, dietary metabolites, and other basic morphometrics. --Duties will likely include, but are not limited to: nest searching/monitoring, measuring eggs, vegetation sampling, equipment maintenance, targeted mist-netting of adult birds, measuring, banding and bleeding adults and chicks, assessing parasites on adults, making blood smears, preparing and
