The Research Hourly Worker will assist in collecting data for a long-term project examining the response of overstory trees, regeneration and understory plants to three different harvest practices. The majority of time will be spent in the field, where activities will include use of GPS equipment and forest measurements (including hemispherical and/or NDVI photography, assessment of hardwood regeneration, measurements of pine seedling survival, and litter and biomass sampling). The workers will also be involved with data entry and other duties as required.
