The role involves assisting the Principal Investigator with the development and implementation of the research programme, involving the daily supervision of volunteer Research Assistants, data collection and analysis, and report-writing.   This role involves assisting the Principal Investigator in implementing the programme of research which includes habitat surveys and primate, bird, butterfly, reptile and amphibian monitoring. In addition to taking part in data collection, Assistant Research Officers will be required to train and supervise volunteers ensuring that scientific rigour is maintained alongside a quality volunteer experience.
