In cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, Native Seed Technicians will support a variety of botany, and restoration projects. Project work will occur primarily on the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area (SMNRA), and other Ranger Districts as required.The Technicians will work on a number of projects, including collection of seeds from native plants and restoration of burned areas.

Essential Duties:

  • Collecting seed of local genotypes of native plant species;
  • Survey rare plants, butterfly habitat, sage grouse habitats and avian fauna;
  • Burned area rehabilitation;
  • Monitor past restoration projects sites;
