The Illinois Natural History Survey is seeking 2 field technicians to assist with the 2023 summer field sampling for the Illinois Bat Conservation Program (IBCP), mostly for acoustic surveys, but with opportunities to assist with mist netting as well. Technicians will generally work in teams of 2 to complete tasks including communicating with landowners, deploying stationary bat acoustic recorders, and driving mobile acoustic transects. Technicians will also be responsible for backing up, processing, and data entry of acoustic output. Additional duties may include assisting with mist-netting as time and schedule permits.
