The SCA intern will assist Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife biologists and other cooperators to conduct surveys for the State Endangered New Endangered cottontail rabbit and the non-native eastern cottontail by walking through thick brush to look for rabbit sign, collecting fecal pellets for DNA analysis, collecting habitat data, documenting survey routes using GPS and data collection applications, and contacting landowners for permission to access their property for surveys.
