The Maine Department of Marine Resources, in partnership with The Nature Conservancy, is seeking qualified candidates for a Marine Resource Scientist II position focused on Sea-Run Fisheries restoration and citizen science. BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: This is professional services work implementing scientific and restoration projects focused on native diadromous or “Sea-Run” species in Maine. Primary responsibilities of this position will be to: 1) Oversee and implement a new adult salmon stocking program and monitor its efficacy in an adaptive framework, 2) Assist others in monitoring diadromous fish populations statewide by recruiting, training, and supporting citizen scientists to monitor selected species in their local rivers and streams, and 3) assist in developing new restoration
