Interested in animal behavior and aquatic ecology? How about creating innovative approaches for managing invasive species? The Applied Behavioral Ecology Lab (www.wagnerlabmsu.com) of the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife at Michigan State University seeks four (4) full-time (40 h per week) temporary (May-Aug) research technicians to assist with several research projects related to the behavioral ecology of invasive sea lamprey during their annual migration into Michigan streams. Projects in 2020 are focused on: (a) understanding how a chemical alarm cue (perceived predation risk) affects habitat selection, movement ecology, and mating behavior; (b) discovering the chemical identity of the alarm cue; and (c) understanding how behavioral habituation affects responses to the alarm cue.
