A growing human population, increased habitat loss, and a changing climate are having a significant impact on ecosystems around the globe. To meet these challenges, we need innovative and adaptable scientists who can develop conservation strategies with real impact.

This forward-looking and interdisciplinary course combines scientific theory with practical research in the field, to equip you with the skills and knowledge to tackle major global issues and make a ‘real world’ difference.

From the rivers of South Wales to the Bornean rainforest, our MSc covers the major conservation issues affecting various habitats across the globe. With training in core areas, such as wildlife surveys, biodiversity assessments and species management, you will learn how to identify current and emerging threats to species and ecosystems, and develop the necessary skills to tackle these threats with effective and scalable solutions.

Our MSc in Global Ecology and Conservation is suitable for those just setting out on their conservation career, as well as for people already working in conservation who are keen to further develop their skills and knowledge in this constantly evolving area.
