DESCRIPTION Dr. Ben Halpern’s research group is a diverse, inclusive scientific team that employs open environmental data science approaches to tackle pressing research questions in ocean sustainability, with the aim to uncover strategic, effective and efficient solutions to environmental problems. Halpern’s research group is based at the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (NCEAS), an independent research affiliate of UCSB that conducts transformational science focused on informing solutions that allow people and nature to thrive.
