SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION This position is primarily responsible for NorthWestern Energy's Avian Protection Program (APP) ensuring compliance with the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, Endangered Species Act and appropriate state and federal wildlife regulations in Montana, South Dakota and Nebraska.  The biologist is the subject matter expert on the APP, Avian Power Line Interaction Committee (APLIC) standards, USFWS Land Based Wind Energy Guidelines, USFWS Eagle Conservation Guidelines, state sage grouse program and other wildlife-related regulations, guidance documents or issues.
