Knowledge, Skill(s), and Abilities The entry-level knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) needed to perform job duties are:  Knowledge of: fish morphology, identification of marine fish and invertebrates, biological sampling techniques as well as the ability to handle live fish for tagging and release and maintaining field sampling equipment. Ability to communicate to the public with tact and diplomacy; establish and maintain work relationships; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; think logically and apply problem-solving techniques; gather, maintain, and analyze data; write technical reports and prepare tables and spreadsheets using a computer and word processing software.
