Overview

You would like to experience the South African wilderness and at the same time contribute to wildlife conservation efforts in the country? Then become part of a fascinating volunteer project and help preserve endangered wild animals and ecosystems in South Africa!

Details

As a volunteer you’ll be involved in various theoretical as well as practical units. Theory lessons teach you valuable species conservation knowledge –practical lessons give you the chance to gather hands-on experience in data collection and analysis while being out in the field. Together with your team of international volunteers and experienced conservationists you’ll dedicate yourself to intense research activities, working in a 11.000 ha free-roaming reserve. You’ll be involved in fence and wildlife monitoring, reserve maintaining, amphibian research as well as White Rhino dominance and territoriality research. Moreover, you are given the chance to acquire crucial “bush skills”, important for living and surviving in the wilderness, as part of special training units.

Take part in a dedicated volunteer project in the wilderness of Southern Africa, experience real conservation work and go on a journey you’ll never forget!

About us

NATUCATE is a German agency, specialized in voluntary work, field guide training, nature-oriented educational courses and internships with a focus on nature and species conservation as well as animal protection. Moreover, we create and organize individual sabbaticals; commitment for nature conservation and personal development being in the centre. Sustainable and responsible traveling, so-called ecotourism, as well as nature and adventure travel are further areas of expertise.

Our projects, courses and tours, fulfilling high sustainability standards, enable people – from graduates to best agers – to make an active contribution to protecting and conserving endangered species and ecosystems and, at the same time, to broaden their personal horizon.
