The position serves as the Assistant Center Director for a multi-location USGS science center that includes major facilities in MD, MA, WV, and employees in other locations. The science center and its affiliated labs are responsible for implementing research and monitoring that improve the Department of Interior's understanding and management of the nation's natural resources.
