INSTRUCTOR DEVELOPMENT COURSE

Are you a Divemaster and want to become a scuba instructor?

Join our IDC in Bali

About the program

The IDC is made up of 2 FUN-damental parts:

The development of the PADI diving instructor part (how to teach, the philosophy, all the courses you will be able to give, but also how to organize them, marketing, etc.) and training as an Emergency instructor First Response Instructor (unless you are already an active CPR & First Aid instructor).

The ideal core schedule is as follows:

  • IDC: 12 days
  • EFRi: 2 days
  • 1 back up day
  • Instructor exam organized by PADI: 2 days. They are usually organised in Lembongan or in Bali

As soon as you have confirmed your participation and after receiving your deposit, we will send you in detail the preparation elements that would be highly desirable for you to cover in their entirety BEFORE you start the instructor training. A brief reminder of diving theory will be given at the start of the IDC. This is not intended to teach you the necessary knowledge that you should already have as an active PADI Divemaster.

We will also send you a personal access code for the new interactive IDC E-learning preparatory program. This includes a series of 16 lessons to be covered before the start of the IDC as well as the online Diving Knowledge Workbook (reviews & development of the 5 chapters of the dive theory: physics, physiology, equipment, techniques & environment, decompression theory). The E-learning is capital. Take the time to do it at your own pace in order to have a good preparation. Candidates who took it seriously and were active before the IDC were really nailing it. It should take you about a short week of self-dedication to achieve it.

PADI Instructor Specialty Courses/MSDT internship:

These courses, covering around 15 specialties, can also be added to the IDC training. This is the perfect time to add cards in your game by specialising as an instructor in the specialties that interest you (deep, nitrox, wreck, sidemount, drift, night, …). They will allow you to distinguish yourself once you have become an instructor and you can teach them immediately following your qualification. Please don’t hesitate to ask us for more info on this.

Duration

15 days training and 2 days exam:

  • 3 days warm-up (optional)
  • 15 days IDC+EFRI
  • 2 days IE PADI instructor exam

Dates for 2023:

  • 19 May – 2 Jun (Instructor Exam 3 – 4 Jun)
