The Forest Preserves of Winnebago County is excited to announce the creation of a wildlife biologist position within its department of natural resources. Under the general direction of the director of natural resources, this position will have wide latitude to develop and administer all aspects of wildlife management across the District’s 11,500 acres. The wildlife biologist will focus on conducting biological inventories throughout the preserve system, with an emphasis on documenting threatened, rare, and species of concern, for the purpose of planning and executing habitat improvement projects. This position may supervise seasonal employees, interns, or volunteers.
