POSITION SUMMARY: One technician is needed to assist on two graduate projects in the San Bernardino mountains of southern California. The position will begin on the first of April and conclude on the 15th of August. The first half of the season (April-June) will consist of an initial surveys locating nesting owls, followed by Project 1, which assesses nesting California spotted owl foraging habitat selection using remote nest cameras and fine scale GPS tags. The end of the season (July-August) will consist of Project 2, which assesses spotted owl climate exposure using GPS tags and field metabolic rate methods.
