– Worked with a conservation organization in the Amazon rainforest alongside scientists, in order to gather data on native animals to be able to identify species of high conservation importance
-Carried out transect surveys for river dolphins, land based transect counts of primates and mammals, mist netting techniques, checking camera traps and electronic inputting of data
06/2012-08/2012 Ape Malaysia, Malaysia and Borneo Role: Zoo/education assistant
– Worked within a zoo with a company that helps to improve the lives of animals kept in captivity through educating zoo staff and visitors on the importance of animal welfare and enrichment
– Designed and constructed enrichment to give to animals to suite their different needs; foraging, hunting, playing
– Participated in community projects in Borneo such as teaching the local school children the importance of their native wildlife and the impacts of palm oil plantations and deforestation on the natural habitats and wildlife.

Interests/additional information
– I thoroughly enjoy being outdoors regularly and practice wildlife photography as I am always fascinated in the world, the environment and the animals that inhabit it
– I am a keen animal advocate and offer my support to different animal campaigns by helping to educate people through attending demonstrations, giving out leaflets and engaging with the public and also promoting different causes via social media and word of mouth
– I am currently learning the Polish language as it is the UK’s second most spoken language
– I am first aid at work ‘appointed persons’ trained
– I hold a full, clean driving license
